vakyam cedam uvaca ha

SYNONYMS

hatesu -- being killed; malla-varyesu -- the best wrestlers; vidrutesu -- having run away; ca -- and; bhoja-rat -- the Bhoja king, Kamsa; nyavarayat -- stopped; sva -- his own; turyani -- musical instruments; vakyam -- words; ca -- and; idam -- these; uvaca ha -- spoke.

TRANSLATION

The Bhoja king, seeing that his best wrestlers had all been killed or had fled, stopped the musical performance originally meant for his pleasure and spoke the following words.
