rksa-rajanam acyutah

vyajahara maha-raja

bhagavan devaki-sutah

abhimrsyaravindaksah

panina sam-karena tam

krpaya paraya bhaktam

megha-gambhiraya gira

SYNONYMS

iti -- thus; vijnata-vijnanam -- who had understood the truth; rksa -- of the bears; rajanam -- to the king; acyutah -- Lord Krsna; vyajahara -- spoke; maha-raja -- O King (Pariksit); bhagavan -- the Supreme Lord; devaki-surah -- the son of Devaki; abhimrsya -- touching; aravinda-aksah -- lotus-eyed; panina -- with His hand; sam -- auspiciousness; karena -- which bestows; tam -- to him; krpaya -- with compassion; paraya -- great; bhaktam -- to His devotee; megha -- like a cloud; gambhiraya -- deep; gira -- in a voice.

TRANSLATION

[Sukadeva Gosvami continued:] O King, Lord Krsna then addressed the king of the bears, who had understood the truth. The lotus-eyed Personality of Godhead, the son of Devaki, touched Jambavan with His hand, which bestows all blessings, and spoke to His devotee with sublime compassion, His grave voice deeply resounding like a cloud.
