|Canto 7: The Science of God||Chapter 8: Lord Nrisimhadeva Slays the King of the Demons|
Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Srimad Bhagavatam 7.8.35
tam adi-daityam harina hatam mridhe
prasuna-varshair vavrishuh sura-striyah
nisamya -- hearing; loka-traya -- of the three worlds; mastaka-jvaram -- the headache; tam -- him; adi -- the original; daityam -- demon; harina -- by the Supreme Personality of Godhead; hatam -- killed; mridhe -- in battle; praharsha-vega -- by an outburst of ecstasy; utkalita-ananah -- whose faces blossomed; muhuh -- again and again; prasuna-varshaih -- with showers of flowers; vavrishuh -- rained; sura-striyah -- the wives of the demigods.
Hiranyakasipu had been exactly like a fever of meningitis in the head of the three worlds. Thus when the wives of the demigods in the heavenly planets saw that the great demon had been killed by the personal hands of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, their faces blossomed in great joy. The wives of the demigods again and again showered flowers from heaven upon Lord Nrisimhadeva like rain.
